hi! my name is klaus, and i have composed electronic music since 1988 under the alias xerxes. this dvd will show you how it all started, how things progressed and how i stand today. it is a long journey, so i hope you take your time with it. the methods used to create these different songs are many, and i will explain this in the section called "detailed info". most people who make music today are very much into how a song sounds, how it was made, which tools was used etc.. i have never really been very interested in this. for me it has been about composing music and making the most out of an idea. obviously the music i compose today, which is released commercially, is carefully mixed and mastered in professional studios, but i absolutely do not think that this is neccessary to make a piece of music work. many of the songs in this compilation are made using 8-bit samples, and the tools that are used are free sequencers anyone can download on the internet (called trackers). i hope when you listen to some of these songs, that you listen to the music itself, and not only for the crystal clear soundscape, the hi-tech hardware sounds and the perfect mix. information about the various tools i have used over the last 19 years can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/trackers much love and respect klaus ps! and yes, i write everything in lower case. i dont like capitalized letters. if you have a problem with this, you could send an e-mail to i.dont@care.com and complain :)
